International Youth Day "Your Vote = Your Voice"

 On 1st August 2025, the Azure Beach Public Library (ABPL) organised a simulation voting experience to show young people in our community how local elections work, as part of International Youth Day. The event was advertised via the library's website, Facebook page, social media, and posters displayed throught the library. The advertising posts included a link to the library website where attendees were able to reserve places, for free, to attend. This event was capped at 20 attendees and all spacecs were booked. The simulation ran for 90 minutes from 3:30pm - 5:00pm. This allowed for the library staff to explain how the afternoon would run, roleplaying as candidates by the AB youth council, and finally participate in the voting process assisted by the library staff.  Also in attendance was a member of local council. It was good to hear the councillor speak of the importance of voting in local elections.                 ...
